Born in Ewell Surrey in 1935 he began his working life in 1950 with The Times newspaper where he trained as a typographer and layout artist. In 1962 he joined Letraset International as Art Director and after 10 years left in order to freelance as a graphic designer.
He moved from Dorking to St.Ives in 1983 with his wife Celia who is a quilt maker, to devote more time to his painting. Since 1987 he has had 14 one-man exhibitions and has exhibited in over 50 venues throughout the UK. He was elected as a member of The Royal Society of British Artists in 2007.
